FORMATION PATHWAYS

Pathways at Real Life

Formation for Christian life, thought, and faithful practice.

At the Real Life Study Center, Real Life names both our larger vision and the shared life at the heart of our community. We want students to see how the gospel speaks to real life and all of life—shaping our studies, relationships, callings, and everyday moments. The Real Life House is where much of that shared life unfolds through hospitality, study, mentoring, worship, conversation, and simply being together.

Within that shared life, students can pursue more focused formation through Fellows and Leadership (LEAD). Fellows develops theological and biblical depth, helping students learn to think Christianly about all of life. LEAD focuses on faithful, gospel-shaped leadership formed through Scripture, character, wisdom, and practice.

How These Work Together

Together, these are not separate programs competing for a student’s time, but different ways of growing within one community shaped by Scripture, shared life, and faithful practice. Students can engage at any level and in any season, allowing formation to deepen naturally over time.

Fellows

A structured pathway for theological and biblical formation, helping students learn to think Christianly about all of life.

Leadership (LEAD)

Equipping and demonstrating faithful, gospel‑shaped leadership in everyday life through Scripture, character, and practice.

Certificate Pathways

Integrated formation with intentional guidance

Participation in a Study Center pathway does not require pursuing a certificate. For students who desire a more structured formation experience, our two optional certificate pathways provide added guidance, mentorship, and integration—helping theological learning deepen into faithful Christian life, leadership, and service.

Real Life Study Center Fellow’s Certificate

The Fellow’s Certificate is a foundational pathway focused on spiritual formation, theological reflection, leadership habits, and connecting faith to all of life. To earn this certificate, a student completes the Fellows Program and works closely with a staff mentor to design additional learning components shaped around their interests, gifts, and sense of calling.

Certificate in Christian Thought & Leadership

The Certificate in Christian Thought & Leadership is an advanced pathway designed to cultivate theological depth, strengthen biblical understanding, and shape a coherent Christian worldview. Students pursuing this certificate participate in both the Fellows Program and Leadership (LEAD), working with a staff mentor to design additional components tailored to their academic, vocational, and ministry goals.

Because we believe that deep Christian reflection should overflow into Christlike living, both certificate pathways intentionally integrate real ministry, service, and leadership as vital expressions of what students are learning.
